Granola is AWESOME. The are excellent breakfast, no matter eating alone, with milk/yoghurt, or as toppings for your smoothie bowl. They are also great snacks for busy work days.

Dried fruits (Dried cranberry, raisins, coconut chips, dried apples etc.) |
Homemade Granola的做法
Whisk the coconut oil and honey/syrup together, I prefer to heat them a little bit in the microwave first to make them more liquidy.
Mix the rolled oats and all the nuts together. Pour the heated oil mixture in step 1 and make sure you stir enough to coat the oats and nuts well.
Spread the oats onto your baking tray, make them evenly spreaded, and put them into the oven.
Set the temperature at around 100-150C and bake them for around 20-25 minutes. Make sure you stir them halfway or every five minutes to bake them evenly and prevent them from burning.
Remove the oats from the over, wait for them to cool down and then add any dried fruits you like.
Transfer the cooled granola into any airtight container, and store at room temperature for up to a month.
小贴士
1. Make sure you used OLL FASHIONED rolled oats instead of any instant/quick-cooking oatmeal to get the texture.
2. The possibilities are endless. Use whatever nuts/dried fruits at your choice to make your own granola. Other mix-ins you could add include: raw coca power (to give the chocolate flavor), cinnamon (if you like that flavor), chocolate chips, vanilla powder etc.
3. Oil are essential to get the oats crisp. You could also use nut butter (peanut butter or cashew butter) to mix into the oats. Personally I do not fancy the strong flavor of peanut butter, coconut oil is a really healthy options and it make the granola smell super nice.
4. I do like sweetened granola. Honey and real maple syrup are great natural sweeteners. If you want completely sugar-free granola just skip any of these, but if you fancy sweeter ones, feel free to add more brown sugar/coconut sugar, or even refined sugar.
5. Make sure you stir the oats all the way through the baking process to prevent it from burning and cooked evenly. The granola are ready when they turn into the golden-brown color and the almonds are toasted.
6. When you just took granola out of the oven they might look very wet, but they will get dry as they cooled. So always give the granola another couple of minutes to dry before putting them in the container.
